Star Technologies Announces the Acquisition of The CAPN from Maptech.

Great Falls, VA.  August 26, 2008

Star Technologies Corporation (Star) is pleased to announce the acquisition of The Computerized American Practical Navigator, or The CAPN from Maptech.  The CAPN is the navigation software professional mariners have trusted for nearly 20 years, including the U.S. Navy and Coast Guard.

“Star is very excited about the opportunity to acquire the CAPN.” said Robert Strunce, Star’s President and CEO.  “Having used it for years, I am a big fan of the CAPN and look forward to updating, expanding, and improving the software.  We are excited to use our Guidance, Navigation and Control experience and continue our development and expansion into the maritime markets.  We want to assure all the users of the CAPN that it is not going away and to look forward to future releases and updates.”

Star plans to continue development and improve the offerings of The CAPN, along with full customer support and software releases.
